For this project, we got to choose a category and create twenty-eight unique type badges with a cohesive theme. We were also challenged to do something outside our comfort zone, so I stayed within a minimized color palette since I always love to incorporate bright colors. For my category, I decided to go with fast food since it is something that I thought I could have fun with!
Ideation and Sketching
In sketching out preliminary badges, I decided that I wanted to go with a retro style. I usually spring for a more funky serif typeface but tried to create most of the badge with a blocky sans serif typeface. I also incorporated a checkered pattern throughout, as well as a few simple hand illustrations.
Fun Variation
You know me...I had to create a bright and colorful version of these badges. I had a lot of fun making these and love how the bright colors added a fun element to the poster.
